2026 Mid-Year Meeting (MYM) and Data Day
June 15-17, 2026.
To align with the needs of our membership and better manage local resources, this year we have updated our Mid-Year Meeting format. This new format has been designed to help reduce time away from local health departments and family, reduce travel costs, and support increased peer to peer learning opportunities. If you are an annual MYM attendee, a new Administrator who has not attended before, or an experienced Administrator who has not attended in recent years, please join us at the 2026 MYM.
Location
To help manage costs associated with hosting this event, this year we have changed from a hotel venue to a public building. This year the meeting will be held at The Pavillion at Madison Avenue Central Park in Derby, Kansas.
Located in the Wichita metropolitan area, the City of Derby and The Pavillion offer easy access from all parts of Kansas and close proximity all that this community has to offer to visitors. Please click here for a map of this location.
Schedule
This year’s schedule has been developed to avoid weekend travel and allow participants to travel in on Monday morning and then a return home at a more reasonable hour after the activities conclude. This change is targeted at reducing the number travel days and associated costs.
- MYM Day 1 will begin at 1:00 p.m. (registration open at noon) on Monday, June 15th

- We will also have an informal networking opportunity to connect with peers between 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

MYM Agenda
MYM Day 1 will be a day in which only local health department and PHEP regional staff are invited to attend, and we will invite our colleagues at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Wichita State University -Center for Public Health Initiatives (CPHI) to join us for MYM Day 2. Then once again this year CPHI is generously supporting Data Day on Day 3 which will be open to LHDs, PHEP, KDHE, and WSU.
The Day 1 agenda has been developed to include sessions presented by our peers and additional sessions to provide opportunities for Administrators to engage in discussions and to learn from each other. The Day 2 agenda is structured around presentations by state and national public health professionals and how their work can help support efforts by local health departments, followed by the KALHD Board meeting.
Update May 5, 2026 – The agenda and session descriptions for MYM and Data Day have been posted.
Registration
This year we have assistance from the Kansas Association of Counties (KAC) who is providing support of the technology and logistics for our registration process. For those of you who have attended KAC events, the registration process should be familiar and hopefully it will be easy for all to navigate.
If you encounter unexpected technical challenges with this registration link, please feel free to contact Amy Addington, Membership Engagement Manager, at the Kansas Association of Counties (KAC) by email [email protected] or phone 785-272-2585 who is available to provide assistance.
Accommodations
With the venue change, KALHD is unable to reserve a block of hotel rooms for attendees this year. To help you make your own reservations, a list of area hotels is provided for your consideration. And if you prefer another option there are many in the Wichita area from which to choose.
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)
KALHD will make application to the Kansas State Board of Nursing for approval to provide CNE for eligible participants. Until a final decision is made by the KSBN, no guarantee that credits may be available can be made. If approved by the KSBN, information will be posted here at a later date and published in the program distributed at the MYM.
