In August, 2013 KALHD was awarded a 3‐year grant from KHF for PHClinic (KIPHS) upgrades. The primary objectives of the project are to fund enhancements to PHClinic to improve functionality for local health departments and a development and testing of an interface to KHIN/HIE for local health departments currently using PHClinic with deployment to interested health departments.
On November 13, KALHD hosted a one-day workshop in Wichita to discuss the HIE and how local health departments will connect. Emphasis was placed on the type of data public health needs to share with, and to access from the HIE. As a next step in this ongoing dialogue, the KALHD HIT committee hosted a 90-minute webinar on April 2 to discuss what information/what kind of reports public health would like to be able to retrieve from the HIE.
Due to technical issues, the webinar was not recorded, however presenter’s notes and the minutes of the meeting are available. Thank you to Trish Harkness for providing her presentation notes and thank you to Christine Steward from Sedgwick County Health Department for recording the minutes.
