Kansas Public Health Practice Program

The goal of the Kansas Public Health Practice Program is to strengthen the capacity and infrastructure of the Kansas public health system. The Public Health Practice Program is supported by a grant from the Kansas Health Foundation.

The Public Health Systems Group provides direction and oversight of the Public Health Practice Program, and KALHD provides fiscal management services. The Public Health Systems Group is a coalition of public health, government, academic and charitable institutions that works to protect & promote the health of Kansans.

The Future of Public Health in Kansas Project is a current initiative within the Public Health Practice Program. The goal of the project is to develop a definition of what constitutes a set of foundational public health services that should be available to all residents and communities in Kansas, and to explore the cost and organizational models for providing those services.

The Council on the Future of Public Health in Kansas has been convened by the Public Health Systems Group to provide advice and ideas about possible policy changes to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of public health services in Kansas.
